Chianti Montalbano DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) Riserva

Montalbano is a hilly territory including the districts of Quarrata, Carmignano, Lamporecchio, Vinci (hometown of the famous Leonardo) and Larciano. This area, devoted to the production of Chianti, has been recognized by the disciplinary as a Chianti sub-area with its own designation.

On these hills Sangiovese, Black Canaiolo, Tuscan Trebbiano, Chianti's Malvasia and Colorino vines are harvested and mixed in traditional percentage, as fixed under the rules.

The harvest is matured until March of the following year with at least an additional two years going into the finished product. At the end of this process, the peculiar features of the wine from this region are at their best, in an unmistakable fusion of smell, tastes and sensations.

When choosing a superior wine to offer our most refined customers, it was natural to select a Chianti from Montalbano. Preserved to the precise point of maturation over several years (including six months in oak barrels) this wine has been set aside specially as a "RISERVA".

The colour is a deep garnet, clear, with violet reflections.
The aroma is intensely vinous, with notes of violet and iris, becoming more delicate with maturation.
The taste is well balanced and slightly tannic, refining to a smooth and velvety flavour over the years.

It makes an ideal companion for a wide variety of dishes, such as red meat and game.

It is advisable to uncork the bottle at least an hour before tasting.

Ideal serving temperature is 18/20°C (64/68°F).
Alcohol: 13% Vol.

Alkoholgehalt: 13%.
